Every year she is there ….no matter how harsh the winter, spring always takes the lead spreading her own magic dust on every leaving creature. I am picturing her as a vivacious woman bursting with all colours of life, her white gown sweeping across the green flowery carpets of nature. She is full of enthusiasm, you can hear her laughter as she is teasing the birds and the bubble bees, playing hide and seek with the little lambs, the chicks and the piglets among the rose buds, the golden daffodils and the purple crocuses. I am so mesmerised by her variant colours, smells and all the feelings she evokes in me. Just look at her and the magnifying glass she is carrying. Could this be her secret weapon?
It is indeed and its name is ..gratitude! Gratitude is like a magnifying glass bringing to notice all the things we take for granted and tend to overlook: the ray of the sun caressing your face, a tiny ladybug resting on your fingertip, the voices of children playing in the park, a smile, a note saying: ‘I am thinking of you’.
Gratitude is like spring time:it’s purely irresistible! It brings warmth and purpose even to the darkest and coldest corners of the earth. It’s beyond doubt remedy for the body, the soul, the spirit.
Jesus himself lived a life of gratitude. He thanked His Father because He had kept things secret from the wise and had made them clear to infants. He also gave praise to God before breaking the bread and passing the wine to His disciples. The fragrance of gratitude permeated His whole life. Following into His steps, we are called in everything to be thankful because this is the will of God for us.
Giving thanks to the Lord invites even more of God’s blessings into our lives. It guards our hearts against envy and deepens our faith leading to a meaningful life of joy and peace.
So, why don’t you start counting your many blessings? Spring is here to stay…
